Electricity and Magnetism

When a current passes through a conductor in a magnetic field, the conductor experiences a force.

The motor effect

When a current passes through a conductor in a magnetic field, the conductor experiences a force.

This force is used to provide the motion which drives electric motors. It is therefore known as the Motor Effect

Fleming's left hand rule enables us to predict the direction of the force exerted on a wire carrying a current in a magnetic field
The motor effect is also what makes a loudspeaker work
